music festival at Gov. Weare Park

July 1, 2011

There was some good music and great hot dogs at Governor Weare Park, this evening. I got to meet one of the musicians after the show who was also an inhabitant of the town. The American Legion (#35) was there to provide food for the patriotic event, and I even bumped into a few folks I’d helped the previous year after the primary, then. (I helped them move their gear to the truck, once again.)

All in all, lots of fun was had. A couple of public school employees have told me that the NEA had already told them to vote for one of my opponents, Kevin Janvrin. The NEA is normally a group that supports liberal Democrats–never conservative Republicans. They only get into a Republican primary to support one of their own who only runs as a Republican. The public sector unions are really weighing in heavily on Kevin’s behalf, and there are some other out of district groups that seem to be supporting another candidate for Tuesday.

Speaking with so many voters from around the district, they are sophisticated enough to see the monied interest groups weighing in on behalf of their preferred candidate.
